NOTD – floral nails, 2nd take

It’s October already!
Pity we don’t have 4 seasons over here in Singapore… I’d have imagined that fall would be my favorite season (well I guess spring too). It’s just the colors…

Well anyway, I’ve tried another holo-roses combination!
I’m still not great with it… while painting on the roses, instead of doing it freely, I tend to 2nd guess myself first. I’ll need to work on that…

But here it is – I’m still excited about it regardless!!

Nude holo with red/pink roses

The base color is a pretty nude/tan holo – Cherubic by Color Club. Then I used acrylic paint for the roses.

NOTD – Of holos and purple roses

It’s end September already! Time sure zooms past… Annnnnd I’ve still got pending cafe posts….
Well, before we go into that, check out my nails this week!

Initially, I started the week with a simple holo gradient:

Pretty holo 😍

I absolutely adore Color Club Holo Hues! I’m still in need of the others! Yes, in need….
On here I’ve got Kismet & Miss Bliss.  A contrasting gradient I must say, but I thought of doing something different.

Then just last night, I decided… why not doodle on these nails? Mind you, I’m not artist, but hey, never hurts to try right?
So while I was staring at my paint set, wondering what to do with my nails, I thought I’d give ‘realistic roses’ a shot.
If you’ve been following my on instagram or reading my posts, it was only a few months ago that I tried painting simple roses (well, 3 rose-manis till date…not a lot I know), so I decided to give it another go… plus I’ve seen so many beautiful floral nails on my Instagram feed! Ahhh pretty florals ♡

And heres what I got!

I actually quite liked how it came out! I will need to try other combinations and definitely practise on this!

Whaddya think about my first try on realistic roses? Let me know in the comments below 🙂

Have a great week ahead!! ☆☆☆

NOTD – Galaxy Nails

Happy Monday morning!

A quick post on my first attempt on galaxy nails! I realised how long it’s been since my last nail post….

Well here you go! It’s not too shabby eh! At least from my perspective 🙂
I was pretty apprehensive in doing this initially but it turned out to be pretty easy! I just needed to remind myself not to be tooooo precise. Hahaha.

East Escapade – The Coastal Settlement & Chock Full of Beans

After hearing all the raving reviews (well, reading) & friends’ recommendations on The Coastal Settlement & Chock Full of Beans (well their cute latte art caught my attention actually…), a couple of us decided that it’s time to give it a go.

Located at the faaaaaaaaaaaaaaar East, I thought it’d be impossible to get there by mere public transport (not including cabs of course). But lo and behold, it’s actually possible! Like there was a bus stop right outside of  TCS! The journey of course was a long one…

We reached The Coastal Settlement at around 3ish?4ish? And they don’t serve mains at that time, so we settled on sides. We wanted to order the wagyu beef cubes but it was out, so we settled on truffle fries (which imo was a tad oily and not too frangrant) & calamari rings.

Le friend ordered this black forest in a jar dessert, he said it was normal, no wow factor.

While I didn’t take many photos of the food like my previous posts, I did take photos of the surroundings. It’s a nice place to just chill and relax. Though I’ve also heard their dinner is pretty good (and there’s always a queue…).

After that, we took a bus straight to Changi Village interchange and headed to Chock Full of Beans for coffee.

We ordered a Caramel Machiatto,  a Rose Latte, and an iced Hazelnut Latte with the 3D foam art!

Iced Hazelnut Latte with a 3D foam kitty!!!

Mine was the rose latte and I enjoyed it! The aroma from the rose and the coffee blended well together, and it’s not too sweet.

Would I go back to either again? Well, it depends. The long journey by train and bus can be quite tiring, so unless I’m really craving for something that only either can offer (like the 3D foam kitty…), chances are pretty slim. Though of course if I happen to be around the East area, perhaps I’ll drop by again.

Stamping Stamping

The rubber stamps I ordered from Qoo10 came throooooooough! Wootwoot~
I’m super stoked cuz I’ve recently got in touch with my inner-child and bought about $40 to $50 worth of rubber stamps (and ink pads of course).
I think I’m mad.

Here are my new babies!

My preeeeetties!

A closer look shall we?

I got really excited to assemble the fairy one, but to my disappointment… I saw this…

image

Do you see that residue on the back of the stamp and the stickers?
Moreover, the stickers are no longer sticky. I’m pretty disappointed in that.

But they look so pretty up close…

image

I’m contemplating on whether or not to stick those stickers on with double-sided tape…. we’ll see.

I’ve also yet tried any of them out!

Will review them once I get my hands on some stamping action!

What’s your childhood favorite crafty activity? Do you like stamps?

Later!

NOTD – Of Holos and Flowers ★

Hello again!

I’m still a newbie in blogging like this, so do bear with me! And I hope you’ve enjoyed my last post as much as I did writing it 🙂

Anyways…
My new job is taking up a lot of my energy and time so much so that when I opened up my nail polish containers to choose what color I should paint my nails, nothing interested me. That’s….pretty bad to be honest. So many pretty colors but nothing caught my eye.

So in times like these, I often turn to… holo polish. Yes, that beautiful little rainbow in every bottle. It always get to me.

It’s hard to get hold of holo polishes here in Singapore, even if you do (online), they often range around $20 or more….
So I’m really blessed to have nailmail buddies!
My holos were all sent to me by my dearest dongsaeng, Vida (IG – @vi___). And the very first time I put it on, I fell in love instantly.  It.is.amazing. period.

And for my nails, I used Color Club’s Kismet as my base and then attempted some floral patterns on it as well! I tried the “one stroke” method to create the blue and yelllow ones, and then just randomly drew the roses on my pointer and ring finger…

image

Initially, I was thinking… mehhh… I screwed it up.
But I’m starting to take a liking for it. It’s not the usual kinda nailart I do, but that messiness turned out…kinda alright, right?

More pictures~

image

Just look at that holo background! Holos make me feel all good inside 🙂

Oh, and using the one stroke technique, I tried to draw a butterfly too…

image

Well, I had fun painting them, so I’m happy.
And I had a few colleagues who asked if they were stickers, so that made me happy too ^-^

So what do you think of them?
Have you tried the one stroke technique before? Link them to me so I can see!

Till next time….
